A Little Bit About Me

Hello and thank you for your interest in my Ebook. You have made a very wise decision in your quest to get into shape and live a healthier lifestyle. My name is Tim Locke and I have been a Certified Personal Trainer for 15 years. When I first began my journey into the world of fitness I was what you could call the old 90lb weakling. I had virtually no muscle mass and was extremely thin. In my youth and teenage years I focused all of my energy playing tennis and golf. I was at one time the #1 tennis player in the state of Michigan for the 16yr old division. I received a scholarship offer to play tennis at Ferris State University in Michigan, but ultimately turned that down and went to Michigan State where I attempted to walk on to the team but fell just short.

I had always been fascinated with people who had a strong muscular build, especially bodybuilders.  It was around this time that I began my odyssey into the world of bodybuilding. Of course any young person really desperate on getting bigger and packing on muscle will undoubtedly be tempted at some point to think about using Steroids. I was no different, and certainly had many opportunities to try them, but I am proud to say I have never given in to that temptation and have built my physique 100% naturally. To build a big muscular frame naturally is many times more difficult because you are taking no shortcuts. It takes years of dedication and consistent trips to the gym, along with making a daily effort to eat the correct foods and get proper rest.

I am no different than you, in that through our lives we will encounter various life challenges where getting to the gym or working out is just not possible for whatever reason. I have had up to a year stretch on a couple of occasions where I just couldn't fit that into my hectic life. Building muscle is such a long, slow process, but losing all of that hard earned muscle happens very quickly if you stop working out. That can be very depressing to see all of those hard earned gains go, and can cause many people to give up entirely. But our bodies have muscle memory, and your body will quickly remember all of the past work you have done and respond accordingly.

At this point in my life I thought it was time to finally put down into words what I believe to be the most important aspects of bodybuilding into an easy to use format so that those of you who are interested in getting into the best shape of your life can now have that opportunity. There is of course NO perfect way to get into shape, as I am sure you have seen or heard numerous different theories and workout fads that come and go, but if you are willing to put in the required dedication that is needed, you can and will be able to build muscle and an eye pleasing physique.

Book Summary

In this book I tried to include a number of different things.  In the first part of the book I provide a brief history of the sport of bodybuilding and how it has progressed over the years to a legitimate professional sport where bodybuilders can now make a very lucrative and comfortable living. For example, one of the premier shows on the IFBB schedule is the Arnold Classic. The winner of that event earns a $100,000 payday. This is a far cry from the days of earning some free supplements and maybe $500 if they were lucky. Bodybuilders today have contracts with supplement companies, and also earn alot of money from doing guest posing appearances all over the globe.

In the second portion of the book I have detailed all of the most important exercises that are considered the bread and butter of many exercise routines, primarily when it comes to building quality muscle. I give an explanation of the proper way to perform these exercises and a diagram of which muscles are targeted by each one. I also provide a complete routine with what exercises to do together, what days to work each muscle group, and when to take a rest day.

In the 3rd portion of the book I have listed a very detailed explanation of what proper nutrition is and the most important supplements and compounds that are a necessity when coming up with a well rounded bodybuilding program. I have also listed many recipes which I use and are easy to follow to help you make your own version of the dishes. This may be the most important section because the saying goes that you do most of your growing and muscle building outside of the gym. This will also give you your own ideas of how to tweak some of your own favorite dishes and make them more favorable to a bodybuilding diet.

In the 4th portion of the book I discuss how bodybuilding competitions are run and what kinds of things are expected from a competitor. This includes the proper preparation leading up to a contest. In every contest the competitors are placed next to one another and run through a number of mandatory poses which I discuss in detail.

In the final portion of the book I list a number of great bodybuilding resources which you can read and find tons of useful information. I also have a photo gallery with a number of photos of myself throughout the years and posing demonstration.

I want to thank you again for taking the time to read this and find out more about my book. I know you will not be disappointed with the content and I am sure you will be able to use the information in your own training and get into the best condition of your life.
